ARMOUR AND COMPANY
four-pound tin can..."lard...an economical product for deep fat frying...".
The only address on the can is GENERAL OFFICES CHICAGO.

5½" diameter x 6" tall

Missing lid.

Dirty and worn with light rust here and there (one side is better than the other); bottom has rust spots
(nothing deep); not bad inside; a couple shallow dents.

Put a plastic or glass container inside and use the tin as a vase -- would be great with a huge bunch of daisies.

Unusual tufted table mat or antimacassar in an Art Deco style.

The word MOTHER is laid out in green squares, with lavender squares above and below, dark lavender corners, and a green-yellow-and-pink self-fringe. The background tufts are two-toned.  The tufts were woven (?) on a mesh backing. Handmade? Machine-made?

19.5" x 12.5"

Would make an interesting throw pillow.  No stains; no holes; no smoke odors (a little dusty).

This one has a much better painting technique and lettering style than others I've seen.
Branches, leaves, and apples (or are they cherries?). Clear glaze is crazed in a few places.
Canister itself is 7½" diameter (lid about ¾" wider); overall height is 10".
THE CALIFORNIA CLEMENSONS
HAND PAINTED
Lid has two very small (1/8" & 1/16") dings in underside of rim that can barely be seen when lid is in place.
Canister has a single 1/8" ding -- really just a scrape -- on upper rim.  Clean & unstained inside.

See my other auctions for a companion to this piece.

Might be able to ship for a pound less than calculator indicates; difference would be refunded.

1920s, flapper era, thight-length beaded rope necklace.  Loomed, ½-inch band of
transparent green and dark-blue seed beads terminating in looped tassels of multicolor
beads with a white glass bead between the sections.

Green part is 21" long, not including the section inside the knot;
tassels are another 10½" long, for a total length of around 70".

One tassel has four loops and is in good condition; other tassel has 2 loops plus a strand that is tied off; there
are about six spots where it needs reinforcing with transparent thread (there are about 3 missing rows that
could be filled in with similar beads; included are a few loose beads).

Framed photo of a group of Hummel figurines issued in 1985.

This is a 1985 magazine picture which someone has placed in what appears to be a handmade, walnut picture frame.
There were two pages in the magazine that have been aligned to perfection -- the line between the two halves almost disappears
(it's just to the right of the bow in the little girl's hair at the center top of the picture).

16½" x 12½"

Frame and glass are fine; hanging wire on back; another picture

Vintage original painting of
mission-style building with tile
roof and wind-blown eucalyptus
and palm trees.

This is a depiction of Presidio Park,
the home of the Serra Museum and
the San Diego Historical Society.
It was built in 1929 and occupies
the original site of California's first
Catholic Mission founded by Father
Junipero Serra and Captain Gaspar
de Portola.  The area now called
Mission Valley can be glimpsed in
the background of the painting.

The date and the medium
indicated in Item Specifics
are just best guesses.

12" x 10½"
Painting alone
is about 6½" x 5"

Last photo shows Presidio Park
as it appears today -- the
vegetation has grown quite a bit
since this painting was done.

There appears to be a signature
in lower-right corner, but it is
illegible; on heavy tan-colored
paper with a canvas texture;
oak frame looks like it was
probably homemade; glass is fine;
hanging wire at back.

There is a very thin crack in the
painting surface in the upper-left
corner (barely visible); other than
that, excellent condition; no odors.

Made by Imperial Toy Corporation, 1985

Package has illustration of Jetsone in spaceship

being grabbed by a space creature using

a space grabber, plastic gun with extending

scissors-style grasper with suction cups.

Package has been opened on one side;

cardboard is not torn but has a couple

light crimps; no odors.

>>>ClickHERE to see the ABOVE listing on eBay; use your BACK button to return to this GALLERY<<<

¼-inch plate glass insert has a 14"

etched flower, a hibiscus with leaves and

tendrils, in a two-tone technique -- frosted-

opaque and frosted see-through.

Legs have beveled caps on upper corners and

fit into table top (held with nuts and bolts).

Sides of table are clear plastic with grooves,

with the upper edge being opaque plastic.

Overall size is 31½" x 15¾" x 14½" tall.

Has been in my possession for at least 40 years

and was old when acquired.  Not sure if it was a

mass-produced piece or a one-of-a-kind studio project.

Plastic has the typical stress marks (see when viewed
at an angle in bright light) and glue bubbles here and
there within/between the plastic; glass has one very
tiny ding in upper edge on one short side, and there
is a 1½" sliver of glass that appears to be missing
from the upper edge near one corner (may have always
been this way; difficult to notice when glass is in recess;
any glass shop could polish/grind the edges to remove
the sharpness); no scratches on glass.  Very slight wear
and scratching (has been in air-conditioned storage
for over two decades).

Taking advantage of FREE LOCAL PICKUP
is the only way to guarantee the glass will
not be broken, although if it is tempered,
it is not particularly fragile.

Japanese screen not for sale.

Vintage lamp made from ceramic

Satsuma vase mounted on

rosewood (?) Oriental stand

(vase sits in recess cut into center

of stand).  Slip decoration and

gold diapering within hand-

painted figures/shapes (a Samurai?

Geisha?) plus flowers on the back.

Colors are dark green, moss green,

maroon, gold, light blue/sky blue,

Chinese red, on a tan background.

Uniform, fine crazing.

14" to top of vase; 16¾"

to top of porcelain socket insert.

Has unusual tin cone that fits

within neck of vase.

Original octagonal/octagon lamp

shade has four embroidered panels

and four pleated panels.  Fine red

silk covers needlework sections

which show as shadow shapes when

illuminated by the bulb.  Silk is worn

in places, especially on top (the gold,

metallic-braid trim could be removed,

and the silk could be replaced).

Shade is about 9" x 14¾" at

bottom; about 8½" tall at front.

Unusual to find the lamp and shade together.

Lampshade is intended to sit on metal

contraption which needs to be reconnected

(soldered) to vase cap (four little holes

accommodate the four metal legs);

someone has added a harp base (harp

not included) under the socket, so the

lamp could be used with a new shade.

Cord is about 80" long (not original); two-way

switch works fine.  Lamp in excellent condition,

with exceptions noted above.

Lamp and shade will be shipped in separate
boxes, so please do not rely on the eBay
USP shipping calculator.

table mat with a wreath of blackberries/
raspberries vine (18" diameter).

Sweet illustration of a woman in a rocking chair, embroidering a cross-stitch Home Sweet Home motto.
She is surrounded by all the icons of the Victorian era -- a tambour table, a delicate chair with needlepoint
covers, draped passageway with fancy spindle divider, statuary, a painted saw with a ribbon bow, corner
what-not shelves, lace curtains, an oval picture frame with a folding fan stuck behind it, a pug dog
on a pink cushion, patterned carpet, and another Home Sweet Home motto in a cross-corner picture frame.

Artist was Reginald P. Ward.

Mounted on a tan background (not peachy like second photo looks; more like first photo), ready to hang in an old frame
(brown and black; typical light wear) with slightly ripply glass; wire hanger at back.
About 12½" x 14½".  No odors.  Weighs 2 pounds.

These dishes were probably blanks
manufactured by Rosenthal c. 1905.

R C KRONACH - BAVARIA ELSE
(with the crown and crossed swords)

and

J P L FRANCE
(Jean Pouyat; Limoges).

The bowls are unmarked.

Some wealthy family may have
commissioned the custom decorating
and the B monogram.

The set consists of

six 9" plates,

five 5¼" bowls,

four two-handled cups
(cream-soup bowls or bouillon cups),

and four saucers (saucers, not shown,
have the same border but no monogram),

19 pieces in all.

The chinaware is translucent, especially the
cups and bowls -- the cups are very delicate.
The color in the band is a grayish aqua or pale
teal green.  The gold, with black pin-striping,
looks to be high-carat and is beautifully done.
Each monogram is surrounded by a wreath.
One bowl has a hairline crack (center of bottom;
impact crack; cannot be felt or seen on inside of
bowl); another bowl has a small dark spot --
a factory glitch; otherwise the set is in excellent
condition -- only a couple plates show the slightest
wear, with most of the dishes looking like they
were never used.

Set alone weighs 7.5 pounds; shipping weight
will be ten or eleven pounds.  The ONLY way
to assure these won't be broken in transit is to
take advantage of local pick-up; if that is not
possible, they will be packed as securely as possible
and shipped Fedex.  Priority is also available, but
dimensional weight will make it expensive.

This is a Pepsi promotional item,
©1978, that was displayed
at a fast food restaurant (Burger
King? Wendy's?) in 1977, in
association with the upcoming 50th
anniversary/birthday of Mickey Mouse.

Probably a fairly scarce item --
maybe the only one left - ???

It is heavy cardboard shaped like
the Disneyland castle, with Mickey,
Donald Duck (holding balloons), and
Pluto gazing up at the open window,
above which is a banner saying
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICKEY.

I can't remember what, if anything,
was in the window, but it might have
been a display of the prizes handed out
for each Pepsi purchase (there is no
platform; not sure there ever was one).
On the back, the window is "closed"
with a sign that says:

BUY A PEPSI AND GET A BIRTHDAY COIN

There are two folded pieces of cardboard
inside that act as hinges -- pull the front
and back apart and push the folds out
to keep the structure open.

Can be placed over a child
as a photo setting, and would
make a good stage for a kid's
puppet show.

has been in storage for thirty years;
a few minor bumps on edges; minor
scuffs and scratches; some light stains

some splashing/running stains on the

This petite lamp is a vase-shaped piece of art glass on a dark brown (probably rosewood or mahogany)
Oriental stand.  Glass is clear at the top with white splotches and streaks that get heavier near the middle.

Glass itself is 9¼" tall

13¼" to top of socket

Brown, silk-covered (actually might be rayon) cord is 59" long; excellent condition; works fine.

Unmarked stoneware with

large pink flowers outlined

with raised gold lines (like

moriage/moriaga) on one

side and a totally different

white flower on the other

side with flat gold details.

Has Oriental flair with vague

shapes of temple dog handles.

Top and bottom have slash

cuts giving the edges a

sort of faceted look.

Uniform very fine crazing.

7½" tall

No hole in the bottom, but this
looks like it may have been
intended as a lamp base.

One side ornament has a chip
in its "tail" -- could be touched
up with some glossy cobalt
blue paint and be nearly invisible.
No other chips/cracks.

Six-paneled salt-and-pepper

This is probably Nu-Cut or one of the other brands that mimic cut glass -- fairly sharp,
but not as sharp as real cut glass.  The edges of the base and cover are polished.  Probably c.1960s.

5" diameter x 2¾" tall.

Excellent condition; inner edges of base rim and lid have a few very, very minor dings.

Textured, pale gold leather (real

that has a zipper-like style with

"teeth" on each side.  Handle runs

down sides through elongated loops.

Beige satin lining with one zippered

plus the matching coin purse.

8" (not including handle) x 6½"

Very clean/no odors, slight wear (a few

minor dark spots in left gusset); very well

made; has faint bluish spots which I think

may actually be a form of corrosion due to

the metallic surface - have not tried to remove it).

This appears to be the 1950's version of the beaded bag -- it's beaded vinyl.  Some sort

The side hinge pins are marked with a logo that is either VB or NVB.

8¾" x 5½"

Gold taffeta lining; clean inside (a couple faint stains); goldtone clasp has light wear; no odors.

YOUR NEXT PROJECT:

22¼" wide x 9¼" tall

Walnut or mahogany case is good; needs refinishing; has three little pressed-wood ornaments --
an urn in an oval cartouche and two side "carvings".  Face is very scratched and
missing glass lens.  No hands, no key, missing back door, missing pendulum.  The works look good,
however, and the hammers still make a very nice-two-tone chime.  I have not attempted to
wind the clock.  Flywheel seems to be ok. Has original 4 rubber feet (not deteriorated).  No odors.

Brass plaque says
G. H. GLEDHILL Patentee Halifax No. 753
AUTOMATIC CASH TILL BY ROYAL LETTERS PATENT

Looks like mahogany; dovetailed corners; very sturdy and not warped; lid has moderate wear; no odors.

21" x 13½" x 7½"

Drawer has two large, two medium, two small round compartments, and one oval compartment; original heavy bronze drawer pull.
Seems to work fine -- opening drawer rings bell and advances the strip of paper over the brass plate (paper roll included is not original).

Underside of lid has two documents:

Gladhill's Patent Automatic Cash Till (instructions for screwing to the counter; instructions for working;
how to attach registration paper; cost of registration paper);

and

Sample entries and prices, dated 1890 (Credit Mr. Smith; Bath Sponge; Nail Brush; Aerated Waters; Beecham's Pills;
Tincture of Myrrh & Borax; Paid Porter's Wage; Paid Messenger's Wage; 5 Pints Seltzogene; Lavender Water;
Compound Licquorice Powder; Paid Fair London; Telegram; Nervine [and a few others]).

Lock says SECURE 2 LEVER (key included is not original; the two prongs don't want to enter the holes in the lock,
and I don't want to force it; was locked at one time several years ago, so I know it works).

Weighs about 21 pounds.
